JOHOR BAHRU: Mayat bayi lelaki dipercayai baru lahir ditemui orang awam di kawasan berhampiran sebuah pondok pengawal yang tidak digunakan di Taman Bestari, Ulu Tiram, dekat sini petang tadi.
Ketua Polis Daerah Seri Alam, Superintendan Jokhiri Abd Aziz, berkata mayat bayi yang masih bertali pusat itu ditemui dalam keadaan berbalut dengan kain batik kira-kira jam 3 petang.
Berikutan penemuan bayi itu, polis kini sedang menjalankan siasatan ke atas mayat yang ditemui itu.
"Siasatan polis mendapati anggota badan mayat adalah sempurna tanpa sebarang kecacatan fizikal. Bayi itu berpakaian berserta lampin pakai buang dan bertopi dengan kepalanya diletakkan di atas sebuah bantal kecil dan dibungkus dalam kain batik," katanya dalam satu kenyataan dikeluarkan di sini, hari ini.
Jokhiri berkata, mayat itu dihantar ke Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI) di sini untuk dibedah siasat dan kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 318 Kanun Keseksaan.
Sehubungan itu, polis meminta kerjasama orang ramai untuk tampil membantu siasatan atau menyalurkan maklumat berkenaan ke balai polis berhampiran atau talian Hotline Polis Kontinjen Johor di 07-2212999 atau Hotline Polis Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Seri Alam di talian 07-3864222.
